The Forklift Operator Certification program area provides students with information and training in forklift design, controls and instrumentation, pre-use inspections, and forklift stability and factors affecting stability. The program includes hands-on training and demonstration of proficiency in safe forklift operation.

The Foundations of Medical Assisting program area provides students with foundational knowledge and practical application of medical vocabulary used in healthcare settings. Students learn the structure, recognition, analysis, definition, spelling, and pronunciation of medical terms through the study of prefixes, suffixes, roots, and combining forms.

The program prepares workers involved in hazardous substance removal and other activities that may expose them to hazardous substances and health hazards.

The Health, Safety, and Environment program area provides students with knowledge of safety regulations and practices used to protect workers and the public from safety, health, and environmental hazards in process industries. Students learn about government-enforced regulations and the proper handling of equipment and substances used in industries such as oil and gas, power generation, water and wastewater, food and beverage, pharmaceutical, and pulp and paper.

The Human Resources Series equips students with the knowledge, techniques, and skills needed to address evolving workplace challenges in today’s professional environment. Through a comprehensive curriculum, students explore essential HR concepts, workforce management strategies, and current industry trends to support effective human resource practices.

This course presents a comprehensive understanding of the theory and practice of leadership in various situations to help students hone their leadership skills and to develop analytical, organizational, evidence-based thinking, and speaking skills. The content and assignments will draw upon current research, case studies, videos, and personal experiences that demonstrate practical applications in real-world situations to enrich leadership in a skilled trade.

The Industrial Pipefitter program prepares students for entry-level careers in industrial pipe fabrication and installation. Students receive training in screw pipe, socket weld, butt weld, and mechanical joint piping systems while developing hands-on skills used in industrial settings. The program emphasizes the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) Core and Industrial Pipefitter curriculum to support industry-standard training and workforce readiness.

The Introduction to Pipe Welding program area prepares students with foundational skills in pipe cutting and welding processes needed for entry-level pipe welding careers. Students learn to use, set up, and calibrate various types of welding equipment while performing basic welding functions and developing hands-on industry skills.

The Introduction to Project Management for Crisis-Ready Professionals program area equips students with foundational project management skills needed to manage high-pressure projects during emergency and disaster situations. Students develop action plans using real-world resilience scenarios while learning project management tools and strategies that support crisis response and preparation for the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification.

The IT Fundamentals program provides students with a strong foundation in essential information technology concepts and skills needed for today’s technology-driven workplace. Students learn the basics of computer hardware, software, networking technology, and network security through beginner-friendly instruction and hands-on learning. The program prepares students for entry-level IT opportunities and further study in the technology field.

The Intensive English program area helps college students and adult learners develop English language skills for work, academic studies in the United States, and Houston City College certificate programs. The program offers Intro, Level 1, and Level 2 instruction, preparing students to transition into ESOL Level 3 upon successful completion of Level 2.

The Logistics Specialist program prepares students with the knowledge and hands-on skills needed to manage the movement, storage, and distribution of materials and products throughout the supply chain process. Students learn key concepts in logistics, manufacturing, inventory control, and workplace safety while gaining practical experience for real-world operations. The program also prepares students to sit for the MSSC certification exam, enhancing career opportunities in logistics and supply chain management.

The Logistics Technician Certification Program is a fast-track course that prepares students for the Certified Logistics Associate (CLA) and Certified Logistics Technician (CLT) credentials aligned with the Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC). The Mammography Certification Training program area prepares radiology personnel for the post primary pathway in mammography, in alignment with requirements set by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). The program provides the didactic and clinical preparation needed to build competency in mammographic imaging and supports students in meeting eligibility requirements for state and ARRT certification examinations.
