The Insurance Specialist program area introduces students to business loss exposures and the operation of insurance policies related to property, business income, crime, marine, auto, and government programs. Students develop foundational knowledge of insurance concepts and may be prepared to take the licensing exam sponsored by the Department of Insurance.

The Introduction to Pipe Welding program area prepares students with foundational skills in pipe cutting and welding processes needed for entry-level pipe welding careers. Students learn to use, set up, and calibrate various types of welding equipment while performing basic welding functions and developing hands-on industry skills.

The Introduction to Project Management for Crisis-Ready Professionals program area equips students with foundational project management skills needed to manage high-pressure projects during emergency and disaster situations. Students develop action plans using real-world resilience scenarios while learning project management tools and strategies that support crisis response and preparation for the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification.

The Logistics and Global Supply Chain Management certificate equips students with the technical skills needed for entry-level positions in transportation, warehousing, inventory, and global supply operations.

The Logistics Specialist program prepares students with the knowledge and hands-on skills needed to manage the movement, storage, and distribution of materials and products throughout the supply chain process. Students learn key concepts in logistics, manufacturing, inventory control, and workplace safety while gaining practical experience for real-world operations. The program also prepares students to sit for the MSSC certification exam, enhancing career opportunities in logistics and supply chain management.

The Logistics Technician Certification Program is a fast-track course that prepares students for the Certified Logistics Associate (CLA) and Certified Logistics Technician (CLT) credentials aligned with the Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC). Students gain comprehensive training in logistics and supply chain operations, including foundational and technical competencies needed for entry-level industry roles.

The program prepares students for entry-level positions in machine shops, manufacturing facilities, and industrial plant maintenance. Students gain hands-on training in machinery, equipment operation, and workplace safety to support a variety of manufacturing and maintenance careers.

The Manual Machinist program prepares students to manufacture precision parts used in industrial, medical, and commercial applications. Students learn to operate manual machine tools such as lathes, mills, saws, and grinders to cut, drill, and finish metal components. The program also emphasizes blueprint reading, precision measurement, and quality control techniques to ensure accuracy and meet industry standards.

The AAS in Manufacturing Engineering Technology trains students to become skilled technicians and CNC operators capable of working in a wide range of manufacturing industries.

The Marketing program at Houston City College offers industry-focused, student-centered courses designed to prepare graduates for today’s fast-changing business environment. Students can pursue either a certificate or an AAS degree while learning key concepts in marketing, retailing, selling, consumer behavior, e-commerce, advertising, and marketing strategy.

The Continuing Education Paralegal program area prepares students for careers in the legal industry by providing training in substantive legal work performed under the supervision of attorneys. Students gain skills in legal research, document preparation, case management, compliance, and other essential support functions used in law firms, corporate legal departments, government agencies, and related organizations.

The Paralegal Technology program at Houston City College prepares students to support attorneys, courts, and legal organizations through research, document drafting, investigation, and administrative case management. Coursework covers legal research, pleadings, law office procedures, courthouse processes, and specialized areas of law, equipping graduates with the skills needed for entry-level paralegal roles.

The PeopleSoft Professional program will include a functional application of Enterprise Resource Software as demonstrated by PeopleSoft. Topics range from navigation, to financials, to query, to basic human resource procedures, to the theory on how enterprise software applications work. The CEU On-Campus program currently mirrors the academic program offered through the Business Technology Department.

The Pharmacy Technician Certificate Program at Houston City College prepares students for employment in a wide range of pharmacy settings, including community pharmacies, hospitals, and home health environments. Training focuses on the essential skills needed to support pharmacists in medication preparation, inventory management, and patient service.

The PHR/SPHR Exam Prep Course program area prepares students with the knowledge and skills needed to confidently pass the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification exams. The program reviews key human resources concepts, exam content areas, and test-taking strategies to support successful certification.
