It had been eight years since Clariza Reyes fully finished a semester in college, and after one semester at HCC, the 28-year-old Interior Design student is now a Gucci Changemaker. While taking part in HCC’s Interior Design program over the Spring 2025 semester, Reyes applied for the renowned fashion designer company’s Gucci Changemakers Scholarship and was selected as one of just 10 scholarship recipients – the only Gucci Changemaker from a community college.

Houston Community College Fashion Design students are known for their stunning designs, creative expressions, and eye-catching innovations in fashion sustainability. This Friday, Dec. 6, they will be hosting their annual Transcending Noir Fashion Show. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show starts at 7:30 p.m.

For nearly 40 years, two neighboring institutions—Houston Community College (HCC) Central and the Ensemble Theatre—have attracted creative talent from across Houston. HCC Central focuses on higher education, while the Ensemble Theatre offers theatrical education for the entire community.
